🐱 How to draw a cat
A cat comes down to a few very typical shapes – a round head, pointed ears and whiskers. Exactly these features make it easy to recognise, for humans and for an AI alike.
Step by step
- Draw a round to slightly oval head in the middle.
- Add two triangular ears on top – pointing up, that's the most important cat feature.
- Draw two eyes, a small triangular nose and a narrow mouth.
- Add two to three whiskers on each side as straight lines.
- Optional: a simple body as an arc below and a curved tail.
Tips for high recognition rates
- Make the ears pointed and clear – round ears quickly read as a bear or dog.
- Whiskers help recognition a lot; go for three clear lines per side rather than many short ones.
Why these features matter is explained on the About the AI page: the neural network looks at the typical shape, not at clean lines.
Common mistake
Drawing the head too small relative to the body – the cat then looks more like some other animal. On a cat the head is allowed to be large.
